Software Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and improve the oRain optical storage management system
• Integrate oRain with external cloud storage APIs (e.g., Azure Blob Storage, AWS S3)
• Participate in system architecture, prototyping, testing, and debugging
• Work closely with product and hardware teams to align software capabilities with system needs
• Author clear technical documentation and contribute to product manuals and internal tools
• Monitor system metrics and logs; build tools to enhance observability and performance
• Track and manage issues using Jira; contribute to code quality and agile processes

Qualifications:

• Strong experience with Python, JavaScript, or comparable languages
• Familiarity with cloud storage services (especially Azure Blob, S3) and their APIs
• Comfortable working in Linux environments; basic DevOps knowledge a plus
• Experience with system integration, file systems, or data management tools preferred
• Clear communicator with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with Redis, REST APIs, and storage technologies
• Familiarity with optical or archival storage systems
• Exposure to observability tools, burn task workflows, or device control interfaces
